Types of cancer

The latest scientific evidence affirms that the nutrition of people suffering from cancer should be a healthy and balanced diet, containing foods from all food groups, and in adequate quantity and frequency, the guidelines for which can be found in the section “General recommendations on nutrition during cancer treatment”.

Although the basic recommendations may be similar, each type of tumour can affect nutrition differently and compromise it to a greater or lesser extent. This will depend on the location of the tumour, the symptoms and discomfort it causes, and the side effects and consequences of treatment. Additional information for some tumour types can be found here. We are continuously developing new information to complete and expand this section. If your tumour is not one of the following you can visit the side effects section to find out how to adapt the general recommendations on nutrition to the most common and frequent side effects of cancer treatment.
