Before asthenia appears

A sufficient and balanced diet, based on fresh foods as explained in the general recommendations section, is essential to cope with the treatment and the progression of the tumor. During periods of lower fatigue, it is important to take advantage of ensuring this balanced, varied diet with all food groups. Additionally, preparing a well-stocked pantry and meals that can be frozen and ready to consume is crucial.

WHAT DO WE RECOMMEND?

  • Doing it on a weekly basis can help ensure that the quantity and frequency of all food groups are included.
  • Take into account the days of treatment or when fatigue may occur to be prepared.
  • Once meals are planned, prepare the shopping list to ensure all necessary foods are acquired to cover the plan.
  • Prepare larger quantities of food, storing them in individual portions in either the refrigerator or the freezer, ready for consumption.
    • Boil pasta or rice and place them covered in food containers in the refrigerator, ready to use.
    • Prepare legume and vegetable soups and freeze them in individual portions.
    • Have ready-made preparations that facilitate direct consumption, such as pre-cut melon, pineapple, or watermelon.
    • Prepare nutritious snacks and store them in airtight food containers: candied nuts, spiced popcorn…
    • Boil eggs and store them with the shell in the refrigerator; they will last 3-4 days and are an excellent addition to soups, salads, vegetable dishes, pasta, rice, etc…
